As with human massage, canine massage is used to release stress and anxiety, to calm, relax and develop a bond with people. Techniques are the same as with humans but follow the canine form which obviously differs somewhat from human and are used to discover and relieve areas of tension, improve circulation and to check on health issues.
My level 4 diploma in Sports remedial massage for humans provides a transferable wealth of knowledge and experience to get to the bottom of any problems.

For mistreated rescues, massage can take time and so we start with healing sessions and building a trust with the animal. Once they realise touch can be a pleasant feeling and not a punishment we can move forward much more easily.
Massage has been used for centuries to heal the body, mind and soul in many different forms. The contact during massage releases endorphins which promote wellbeing.
I have had great results from the dogs, and cats and other animals, I have massaged, either my own, animals living with friends, at rescues and during dog sits. After only a short time the dogs often come over to say hello when they see or hear me and then position themselves ready for a massage. Or offer the area they need healing closest to me.
